Good Brother Espresso Shop

I think I’ve found it team. I think I’ve found my blog/ youtube mojo. I think it has A LOT to do with the fact that we’ve moved into this sun-filled, wooden-floored, animal-full house in what I think is Newcastle’s up and coming, trendy suburb. Yes. I know. You get it, I HAVE BEAUTIFUL WOODEN FLOORS IN MY HOUSE, and I have been insufferable about it. Sorry. No. Not really.

But let’s talk Good Brother Espresso Shop. We all have those people in our lives who we trust. Who will always have good advice. When it comes to food, I have Nick. I asked Nick for a breakfast place that I haven’t gone to yet and he suggested Good Brother Espresso. I love you, Nick. (Nick also spied on us while we were having brunch and messaged me that he saw me at Good Brother and he loves it when I take his advice.)

Good Brother is amazingly close to the beach and the perfect pit-stop before or after your next beachy walk. It is a hipster haven complete with exposed brick walls, wooden crates for chairs and a large window for people watching.

Some people say that Good Brother has the best coffee in town but I’ll let you be the judge of that. Hunterhunter also tells me that Good Brother is run by the same partners who run Suspension in Hamilton.

But what really sold me was the food. The menu’s wide and diverse with numerous sweet and savoury options. Everything was exotic in it’s own right but homely and familiar at the same time.

After being very undecided in what to order, a waiter brought a lady close to us an amazing looking plate and I walked over to their end of the communal table to ask what she got. The veggie breakfast is an amazing stack of bread, curried chickpeas, hummus, egg, rocket and haloumi. It basically has everything I love in one plate. Can I eat this for the rest of my life for every single meal? Please?

Taylor got the beef pastrami sandwich with purple cabbage and mustard. His sandwich was a perfect balance of salty beef, spicy mustard and sour and crunchy cabbage. We like our sandwiches a lot around here so trust me when I say this was good.

Josh got the bacon and egg roll. Basics done well.

If you haven’t been to Good Brother yet, do yourself a favour and head there this weekend. I’ll be spying on you Nick-style.
