Asian Carrot Slaw Rice Bowl

asiancarrotslaw_post1You guys loved my Green Sushi Bowl so I’m sure this will be a hit! This carrot slaw is amazing. It is refreshing, tasty and satisfying.

This raw slaw couldn’t be easier to make. The seaseme oil gives the slaw an amazing fragrance and makes the sweeteness of the carrots truly stand out. Serve it as I did in a rice bowl perfect for lunch or as a side salad. Whichever way you serve it, you are in for a treat.

Asian Carrot Slaw Rice Bowl


    Carrot Slaw
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon seaseme oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce/ tamari
  • 1 tablespoon seaseme seeds
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 handfuls of baby kale
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce/ tamari
  • 1 teaspon seaseme oil
  • 10 button mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce/ tamari
  • 1 teaspoon seaseme oil
  • Serve with: Rice/buckwheat or a mixture of both and tofu


  1. Grate carrot with the largests hole on the grater.
  2. Mix all other ingredients with carrot.
    Kale and mushroom
  1. Stir fry each vegetable individually then season with soy sauce/ tamari.
  2. Serve with rice and tofu.
