If you are anything like me, you cannot resist marked down fruit or vegetable. When I see a kilogram of apples marked down to a dollar, I have to have them. Making fruit compote is the best way to make use of excess fruit or fruit that is not good enough to be eaten whole. It’s so easy as well! You literally chop everything up and chuck them into a pot.
Apple compote is lovely coming into the colder months. It’s comforting and very versatile. I especially like mine in my morning oatmeal or with some yogurt. You could also go a step furthur and use it in muffins, crumbles and pancakes.
